That is, there is no actual feeling that you are doing the right thing. Instead, it is just a thought that you are doing the right thing.
The same is true for activities or actions you do. If you think you are doing something good, then you will think of what you are doing as good. But if you are feeling bad, you will think of it as bad. This is called negative self-talk. Positive and negative self-talk can be helpful in situations where you have not yet developed a positive or negative pattern of thought.

The very first time I read this, I thought it was a good way to start the day, because this is going to be a real, self-evident, and objective-to-self-talk. It is a self-talk that says “It’s okay to make a mistake and screw up; if you are stupid enough to make it, you deserve it.
Not so fast. It’s not like this is bad advice, because we will learn the hard way that we need to stop thinking in terms of our own self-worth. If you start believing that your actions are somehow not good, then you will start to believe that you deserve to be punished or to be miserable. You will start to think your actions are so bad that they are worthy of punishment and that you deserve to be punished for them.
I would advise against this because it only leads to disaster. If you make a mistake and screw up, you are so far removed from the situation that you are no longer in control of your actions. The real world, the one where you live and breathe, is not the battlefield where you might be punished for your actions. You are not going to get in any trouble for not respecting the safety of other people on Earth.
The real world is not like Deathloop, where you can just go down the rabbit hole and find out what you’ve done wrong. The real world is a world where your actions are judged by the people around you. And no, I am not saying what you did was a good thing. I am saying that being a good person is not the same thing as being a good person in the real world.
