One of the things I love about the trailer for Deathloop is that it doesn’t just show the main character, Colt, but also the other characters from the game. I was wondering if the trailer could be seen as an attempt to give a bit of a backstory to the main characters and their family in a way that might not be so obvious later, but I couldn’t help but notice that the main characters’ family has a very unusual appearance. The trailer gives the impression that Colt Vahn had all of his memories wiped out, but I dont believe this. I think he had a split personality, so that he wasn’t entirely himself, and the only thing he knew was what he knew before the “death.” It would be a real shame to miss out on the best death in gaming, and I really hope that the developers take this opportunity to explore the story more.
I know this is a really old post, but I just wanted to add that Colt Vahns death is not really his fault, and I dont think he is evil. His personality changed, as it does for a lot of people. I love it when devs take an opportunity to explore character motivations and develop them.
The death of Colt Vahns is not really the death of the game, as he was just an unfortunate coincidence. His death is the end of his story, but it’s not really his fault. His actions were out of character and for that I’m sorry, but don’t worry, the developers have a plan for him to move on to his next adventure. You’ll see.
That was a little dramatic, but I think it’s fair to put Colt Vahns in a time loop, as he is indeed our hero. The game is still in the early stages of development, so there is nothing to prevent Colt from continuing on with his next adventure, but I’d still like to see him continue the story in some kind of interesting way.
