If you want to download a file to your local computer, you will need to first create a Google account, which can be done by clicking here. Once logged in, simply click the “Drive” icon and select the file you want to download. If you are a Google Drive member, you can click here and select the file from there.
If you want to change your default location, you can do this by clicking here, and selecting “Edit” from the dropdown menu. Once you click “Edit”, you will be asked to enter a new location, either your home directory, another Google Drive folder, or even your entire Drive.
Google seems to have a habit of changing default locations on Drive automatically, so it can sometimes be a bit confusing. It’s especially annoying if you’re on Windows and you want to change your Drive location to go to the Documents folder, but you’re also in your home directory. Luckily, there’s a way to go back to your default location after you change your Drive location, as long as you aren’t already in your home directory.
The easiest way to do this is to first delete your drive, then go to where you want to go and type cd / and hit enter. Then you can hit enter again to go back to where you were.
The other way is to create a new folder and navigate to it. Then you can delete your current Drive folder, then you will be in your new folder and you can change the Drive location. This is a little more complicated. First, you need to make sure you have a new Drive folder, so go to your Home folder, then delete your current. Then navigate to where you want to go, and type cd and hit enter.
I’ve had some success changing owners in Google Drive by using this method. It’s not necessarily foolproof, but it works 99% of the time.
Once you’ve made the change, you would now need to re-download the files to your new Drive folder. But for this to work, you need to go to the Drive folder you deleted and download the files to that location as well.
This method is much more limited in its ability to change owners because the files you download from Google have to be on your computer, not the Drive Drive folder you deleted. As a result, if you delete the Drive Drive folder where you downloaded your files, those files will not download.
This is a common problem, but it is an easily avoidable one. As a Google Drive user, if you delete the Drive Drive folder where you downloaded your files, those files will not download. But if you delete the file where you downloaded those files, you will be forced to redownload them.
This problem is easily avoided by simply deleting the file where you downloaded them. However, the files themselves are still saved somewhere. It’s just that the file you deleted is the one you can’t access.
